A 5 Step Routine - A Hair Ritual To Healthy Hair

A 5 Step Routine - A Hair Ritual To Healthy Hair

There is a difference between routine and ritual.

A routine is something you do.

A ritual is something you feel.

Growing up, my mother taught me the meaning of care through something she called the big shower. It wasn’t just about cleansing, it was about slowing down, reconnecting, and honoring yourself.

She was born and raised in Morocco, where she and her mother would visit the hammam once a week. For hours, they would wash, talk, laugh, and simply exist together. Steam would fill the space, softening not only their skin, but everything they carried within.

Before they entered the hammam, my grandmother would coat my mother’s hair in pure argan oil and my mother would do the same for her. They would braid each other’s hair, wrap it, and let the oil rest for hours. By the time they washed it out, the hair had absorbed every drop of nourishment.

Afterward, on damp hair, just a touch more oil so the shine would never leave.

They would walk out lighter. Softer. Recharged.

Ready to give to the world again.

My mother carried that ritual with her. Even without a hammam nearby, one thing always remained: argan oil.

And now, so do I.

The Noare Hair Ritual

A modern expression of an ancestral practice, refined, yet deeply rooted.

Step 1 — The Oiling

Begin with pure argan oil. Warm it between your hands and apply generously from roots to ends. This is not the moment to rush, this is where nourishment begins.

Step 2 — The Braid

Gently braid your hair to seal in the treatment. Wrap it in foil, cover it, and allow the oil to rest. Let time do its work. This is patience. This is care.

Step 3 — The Steam

Step into a warm, steamy shower. Let the heat open everything—the hair, the skin, the mind. Cleanse deeply. Take your time. This is your big shower.

Step 4 — The Renewal

After washing, apply a small amount of Noare Elixir to damp hair. Infused with Omega Blue Technology, it allows the oil to penetrate deeper, strengthening the hair from within while restoring softness and brilliance.

Step 5 — The Finish

Let your hair dry naturally or style as desired. What remains is not just shine—but strength, resilience, and care you can feel.

Even now, I still follow this ritual.

I still apply pure argan oil, wrap my hair, and wait until it’s time for my big shower. I still turn the water hot at first, letting the room fill with steam. I still scrub my skin, slowly, intentionally.

And sometimes, I still ask my mother to scrub my back.

Not because I can’t do it myself but because it connects us.

To each other.

To the women before us.

There are moments when she braids my hair, and I have to hold back tears.

For a second, I am six years old again.

I feel her missing her mother.

And I feel, somewhere deep inside, the future,

the day I will braid my daughter’s hair.

What a love women carry.

What a love they pass on.
