The process

Argan oil is a rare and precious oil, traditionally sourced from the kernels of the argan tree in Morocco. At Noare, we value this centuries-old process, where each step, from harvesting to extraction, is carried out with care and respect for nature.

1. Harvesting

The process begins when the argan fruits ripen and naturally fall from the tree. The outer pulp is removed, revealing a hard nut inside.

2. Cracking the Nut

Each nut contains small oil-rich kernels. Traditionally, the hard shell is cracked by hand using stones — a precise and skilled process.

3. Extracting the Kernels

The kernels are removed from the shell. For cosmetic argan oil, they are not roasted (roasting is only done for culinary oil).

4. Cold Pressing

The raw kernels are mechanically cold-pressed to extract the oil. Cold pressing preserves the fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamin E.

5. Filtration

The oil is then filtered to remove any sediment, resulting in pure, golden argan oil ready for cosmetic use.
